The pastor is accused of assaulting the little girl at his house in Dobsonville over the Easter weekend. The bail application for a 58-year-old man accused of raping his 12-year-old relative has been postponed for the defence to obtain more information about his personal details.

The pastor is accused of assaulting the little girl at his house in Dobsonville over the Easter weekend. The 58-year-old was arrested after a video showing the little girl bleeding was widely circulated online.

He appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning. Community members, political leaders, school learners and parents are marching outside the Roodepoort Magistrates Court, calling for justice.

The court gates were closed to control the crowd while public order police managed those who tried to enter forcefully. Community leader Mandla Nyaqela said they want an end to gender-based violence. The matter will resume on 22 April 2026. EWN
