Kenya Airways (KQ) has diverted several flights and warned of delays following low visibility that disrupted operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

In a customer update issued on April 10, 2026, the airline said both departures and arrivals had been affected by the weather conditions, with some flights being redirected to Moi International Airport as a precautionary measure.

“We wish to inform our customers to expect some flight delays for departures and arrivals due to low visibility affecting operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO),” the airline said.

“Some of our flights have been diverted to Moi International Airport, Mombasa. Flight diversion is a necessary safety precaution to ensure the safety of all onboard and remains our highest priority."

KQ apologised for the inconvenience caused and called for patience, assuring that its teams were closely monitoring the situation and would adjust operations accordingly.

“Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and will adjust our flight network and operations as soon the weather conditions improve,” KQ stated.
