The Tanzania High Commission in Nigeria is set to donate N1.7m naira to charity in commemoration of Tanzania’s 60th Independent anniversary.
The Tanzanian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Benson Bana made this known at a press briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Dr. Bana said that the donation was part of a five days of activities which includes an inter faith prayer service, photo exhibition, a visit to orphanages and an open dialogue on the achievements of Tanzania since independence.
Dr. Bana noted that in 60 years, the country has made remarkable achievements including having its first female president.
Therefore, the discussions will also focus on the role of women in governance, while also evaluating Pan-Africanism and Tanzania’s contributions to the liberation of other African nations. - Emmanuel Ukoh, Voice of Nigeria
