Geneva, June 23 (SANA) A United Nations commission of inquiry said on Tuesday that Israeli authorities and security forces deliberately targeted Palestinian children during the war in Gaza, resulting in acts that amount to genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Reuters quoted the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory as saying in a report that Palestinian children had been intentionally targeted by Israeli forces during the conflict.

Commission Chair Srinivasan Muraleedhar said the evidence showed that Palestinian children had been deliberately targeted and killed by Israeli forces.

“Even after the ceasefire in October 2025, children continue to be killed and seriously injured, as Israel continues to disregard the ceasefire and the protections afforded to Palestinian children under international law,” he said.

The findings come a day after the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child warned of the situation facing Palestinian children in the occupied Palestinian territories, citing mounting pressure on human rights defenders and humanitarian organizations that has forced many to suspend or reduce their operations.
