Three men, including two brothers abducted in Kitengela, Kajiado County have been found alive, and released.

The brothers, Jamil Longton, 42, and Aslam Longton, 36, were discovered in Gachie on Friday morning, according to Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo.

Bob Njagi, the Free Kenya Movement coordinator, was also found in Thogoto, Kikuyu.

"I have been informed that Jamil and Aslam Longton were dumped at the Gachie border of Kiambu and Nairobi by their captors. Every prayer and intervention made a difference," LSK President Odhiambo wrote on X.

Jamil and Aslam were found in Gachie area.

The three are undergoing medical check-ups before reuniting with their families. The Longton brothers were reported missing on Monday, August 19, 2024, after being forcibly abducted near their Kitengela home by individuals who identified themselves as police officers.

Njagi was pulled from a PSV in Mlolongo and driven away in an unmarked car. Their abduction escalated tensions between the Judiciary and the police after Justice Lawrence Mugambi sentenced Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli to six months in prison for contempt of court.

Masengeli failed to appear in court seven consecutive times, to explain the whereabouts of the three men.

Days later, Justice Mugambi's security detail was withdrawn, a move Masengeli defended, stating the officers had been recalled for VIP security training.

On Thursday, September 19, newly sworn-in Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja denied the men were in police custody, adding that investigations were ongoing.

“You are aware that I have just taken office, but I have been informed that we do not have the Kitengela three in custody. A report was made, and the investigation remains active,” Kanja told the press. By  Mate TongolaAdditional reporting by Peterson Githaiga. The Standard
