2 sides also condemn latest Israeli aggression in Gaza and occupied West Bank

KARACHI, Pakistan

Pakistan and Egypt on Sunday reaffirmed their call for restraint and de-escalation amid a mounting conflict in the Middle East, while condemning the latest Israeli aggression in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

This came during a meeting between Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, a statement from Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said.

Abdelatty is on a two-day trip to Islamabad to take part in a quadrilateral foreign ministers' meeting to discuss the ongoing mediatory efforts to end the conflict.

The two ministers exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, underscoring the need for restraint, de-escalation, and the resolution of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s "unwavering" support for the Palestinian people and strongly condemned the continued aggression by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank.

He appreciated Egypt’s role in facilitating humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza, including support extended to Pakistan’s relief efforts. Anadolu Agency
