The remains, which have not been identified, were discovered during a search launched after the skull recovery, with detectives treating the case as suspected homicide.
Police said the skull was found on Monday morning along the shores of River Kyang’ondu in Usalala Sub-location, Mbooni East.
Area Assistant Chief Getrude Waeni said passers-by spotted the remains and alerted local authorities, noting that the skull had decomposed significantly, making immediate identification impossible.
Authorities said preliminary investigations suggest the victim may have been killed. The body was moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary as investigations continue. By Michael Mutinda, Citizen Digital
