Carolyne Omboto, a Kenyan-born member of the United States Army, has been inducted into the Sergeant Morales Club, one of the Army’s highest honours for leadership and service.

The Sergeant Morales Club recognises non-commissioned officers who demonstrate exceptional leadership, integrity, and commitment to their soldiers. Named after a respected Army leader known for his moral courage and mentorship, the club represents the highest standards of professionalism and character within the enlisted ranks.

Omboto’s induction, approved by the Commanding General, highlights her years of dedication, discipline, and outstanding service. Membership in the club is highly selective, awarded only to those who consistently uphold the Army’s core values and serve as role models for others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Omboto expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as both humbling and deeply meaningful. “I am honoured and deeply humbled to be inducted into the Sergeant Morales Club, a symbol of leadership, excellence, and selfless service,” she said.

She credited her mentors and colleagues for their support, adding, “I’m grateful for the journey, the mentors who guided me, and proud to stand alongside the other outstanding inductees. Together, we carry the legacy forward.”

Her achievement also reflects the growing contributions of Kenyans and other immigrants serving in international institutions, particularly in defence and public service. Mwakilishi
