Police in Kisumu East have arrested four men and recovered a firearm believed to have been stolen from a police officer during the burial of Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga last Sunday in Bondo, Siaya County.

The suspects were apprehended on Saturday afternoon at a hideout in the Mbeme area. DCI officers based at Kasagam Police Station raided the hideout following a tip-off from members of the public and managed to recover the firearm during the operation.

The loaded Jericho pistol was reportedly snatched from Police Constable Benson Kodia, an officer attached to the Kakamega Governor, as he escorted the governor to his vehicle during the burial.

The suspects are being held in custody for interrogation pending arraignment. Man arrested with over 300 rolls of bhang in Vihiga. By Aly Abich, Citizen Digital
