Dr Mbuvi is coming to the UK. He will be among top Kenyan artistes performing during Jamhuri Vibes – event to be held at White Nurseries, Clay Lane, Northampton NN6 0EP on 15th August 2026.
Victor Mbuvi’s song “Kwata Kawaya” was released in 2011. The song dominated Kenyan Chart garnered more accolades and won Groove and Kisima Awards. He started his career with the a cappella gospel group His Image, modernizing the Luo folk song Taya. In 2001 his career soared with the hit song Ukilya Moko with Shammah. This was followed by Nisamehe with group Injili whose impact was huge in East Africa. Dr Mbuvi also co-wrote award-winning song Kuwe na Amani which earned him Kisima Award. His albums Wewe in 2009 and Kwata Kawaya 2011 got more accolades and awards dominating regional charts.
A lot of people may know him as a musician but as much as he loves music too, Dr Mbuvi does more. He is an IT professional holding an MSc in Computer- Based Information Systems from the University of Sunderland, UK. He is a member of Wakenya Pamoja, promoting peace and unity. He uses his art to address societal issues. For example, songs like Enda na Usiangamie encourages action-based faith and warn against destructive lifestyles.

Dr Mbuvi supports vulnerable communities through his work with Special Olympics Kenya (Pamoja-This is my Life) He also serves on the board of SHAK (Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Kenya)
Dr Mbuvi’s patriotic anthem Sema Jambo and unity-focused track Muti Museo won Eastern African Song of the year Award at Groove Awards. The song reflects to Dr Mbuvi’s national pride and grassroot solidarity.
Dr Mbuvi has performed during Kenya’s national functions, Madaraka Day 2012 and Mashujaa Day 2025 and contributed in different ways.
