The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has appealed to members of the public to help identify a person of interest linked to the murder of Reverend Julius Ndumia Ngari of PCEA Tabuga Church in Nakuru North Sub-County.

Reverend Ngari was killed during a church raid at Tabuga Parish on May 3, as the attackers also assaulted the watchman Benard Nyamwaka.

The DCI released two images of the unidentified individual, including a digitally enhanced version generated to improve visibility of identifiable features, saying the person is believed to possess crucial information that could advance investigations and help identify additional accomplices.

The agency revealed that extensive forensic analysis and intelligence-led investigations conducted by detectives from the Homicide Directorate, Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), Operations Support Unit (OSU), and Nakuru County investigative teams led to the arrest of two suspects, Felix Odinga Okumu and Berryly Nafua Atenyo.

The two suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Nakuru Law Courts after the case file was reviewed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

“The matter is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on June 17, 2026, ahead of the commencement of the trial,” the DCI stated, adding that both suspects pleaded not guilty.

Even as the case proceeds in court, detectives said investigations remain ongoing, with officers actively pursuing further leads and profiling other individuals of interest linked to the killing. Citizen Digital
