It's been months since Tiger Woods provided the world with an update on his heath -- he suffered an Achilles tear that was repaired -- and it felt then like it could be time for him to retire fully from golf.

On Saturday, he gave another health update: He consulted with doctors about his back and "scans determined that I had a collapsed disc in L4/5, disc fragments and a compromised spinal canal."

He said he underwent disc replacement on Friday, and he "[knows he] made a good decision" over his health.

We're glad he's OK and that the surgery was successful, and it feels like talking about playing golf is secondary here. Hopefully, he gets well soon and this alleviates his back pain. By Charles Curtis, Yahoo News
