Ten states in Nigeria have been placed on high alert following cases of Ebola virus infection in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, APA reports, citing the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

The center stated that Nigeria is at risk of Ebola infection due to international travel and cross-border movements following the ongoing Ebola outbreaks in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

It was noted that no confirmed Ebola cases have been detected in the country so far, and the federal government has instructed all state governments to intensify surveillance activities and strengthen emergency preparedness. APA
