Kenya Sevens whipped Jamaica 45-0 to pick the second successive win in the Commonwealth Pool D games held at Coventry Stadium on Friday.

Shujaa will enter day two leading Pool D with six points, while Australia are on five points after a 12-12 tie with Uganda. Uganda have three points, while Jamaica have two after the first day of the competition.

Shujaa's flying start

Kenya, who defeated Uganda in the first round, went into the match against Jamaica looking to secure a spot in the final eight, and they got off to a flying start, scoring four tries.

Captain Nelson Oyoo scored the first try, sprinting from his own half and diving over near the corner flag for a 5-0 lead.

The margin grew when the ball shifted from Johnstone Olindi to Kevin Wekesa to Vincent Onyala, who scored for a 12-0 scoreline after a successful conversion.

Daniel Taabu's spectacular step followed by a dummy left his markers for the dead to score the third try, while Willy Ambaka extended the lead to 24-0 at the half.  By , PD
