The High Court has set free Stephen Nzuki Mutisya, a former director at a children’s home, who had been sentenced to serve 100 years in jail for defiling four minors.
Nzuki had been found guilty by Nairobi Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul, who convicted him after evidence showed he sexually abused the minors under his care.
The court had been told that while committing the offences, Nzuki would quote the Bible to convince the children that his actions were acceptable.
However, the High Court has overturned the sentence. As a result, Nzuki’s conviction and sentence were quashed, and he was ordered to be released unless otherwise lawfully held. By Dzuya Walter, Citizen Digital
